“Understanding the Transitional Needs of Servicemembers to Veterans: A focus on mental, social, and behavioral health” (dissertation, field research, and research study; Doctorate of Philosophy’s Dissertation)
An Interpreted Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) and qualitative approach was used in this study which required CITI certifications in working with human subjects. This research explored the lived experiences of veterans who had fully transitioned out of the military. Results yielded from this study were successfully defended on December 10, 2024 at Nova Southeastern University.

“Serial Murder, Expressed Malice, and Premeditation” (paper and research; Criminal Law)
There is a difference between the Model Penal Code (MPC) and the Common Laws throughout the United States when the eyes of the justice system fall on murder. This paper discusses the differences that make murder a criminal offense and some of its faces. Vocational.
2022
“Sexually Motivated Serial Killers Who Have Served in the United States Armed Forces” (paper and research study; Sexual Offenders with Special Agent Alexis Carpinteri)
When paraphilia and homicide combine, they are a cocktail of structured deviance. Together, they give birth to Sexually Violent Predators, specially, serial killers. Some of these serial killers have training in how to kill which they pick up while serving in the military. This research looks are specific serial killers and collects statistical data from several different research resources to determine these dangerous honing-in skills.

MFA Creative Writing Thesis/Workshop (thesis and poetry manuscript; Masters of Fine Arts Program’s Thesis)
“Only the Silence” is a poetry manuscript about Raguso’s life before, during, and after the military. It goes into depth about the psychological, historical, and socio-anthropological impacts that came with it. The award-winning poet Mark Nowak critiqued and advised its completion. Vocational.
“The Ultimo-Sopor Theory” [orig. 2016] (thesis, field research, and research study; orig. Sociology-Anthropology Program’s Thesis; Creative Nonfiction Workshop)
Thesis written as an easy-to-understand socio-cultural manual that relies on ethnography with the implementation of the scientific method and ethnology. It walks the reader through an in-depth experience of how people around the world dispose of their dead and how they cope with death. This thesis relies heavily on Raguso’s Ultimo-Sopor Theory, which explains how death is a shared human experience and why death is an essential bonding experience among individuals and society. Notes from TESOL Internship (notes; Independent Study: Teaching English for Specific Purposes)
Numerous lessons plans were designed to fit the needs of a diverse student populace to include prison inmates, veterans with PTSD, teens with high-functioning Autism, victims of sexual abuse, etc. This was an internship where lesson plans were developed and implementation was required. Vocational.

Exploring the urban and rural cities of Crete with Foniadakis Travel Center takes ethnographers off roading and under the roads. This article shares the reflective diary of Raguso as an everyday anthropology student. This is a must read for all anthropology, sociology, and classical study students that details the beauty of Crete. Avocational.
“Guiled Whispers” (research and screenplay; Screen Writing)
“Guiled Whispers” is a psychological and supernatural screenplay which is based on true events about her mother and her mother’s fellow in-patients at a terrifying sanitarium that existed up until the end of 1984 in Beacon, NY. Raguso took very few liberties that included changing the names, the ending (which gave the characters resolve), and the actual levels of violence were toned down. Vocational.

“Inside the Head of the Blood Monster” (research and historical fiction paper; Writers Cross-Genre)
“Inside the Head of the Blood Monster” is a Historical Nonfiction based the real-life slayings by Serial Killer David Berkowitz who claimed to be possessed at the time of his killing sprees. This perspective is meant to underline the theoretical, forensic psychological aspects of Mr. Berkowitz’s state of mind at this dark and deviant time in 1970s’ New York City. Vocationals.

“Shedding Light on the Blue-Collar Trade of Tow Truck Operators” (paper, field research, and research study; Ethnography)
“Shedding Light on the Blue-Collar Trade of Tow Truck Operators” is a paper written in response to the ethnographic fieldwork conducted by Raguso September-October of 2016. It explores the day in and day out of three very different tow truck operators, their being first responders, and their experience with the public. It also looks at motor vehicle laws and data about tow truck operators and their environment. Vocational.
“Military Plagues: Environmental Injustices and Discrimination” (paper; Independent Study: Environmental Sociological)
“Environmental Injustices of the Military and the Environmental Discrimination” is an ethnographic and ethnological research paper that explores different forms of environmental injustices and discrimination that commonly surround and are found on military bases. The research is heavily based on data previously compiled by the Army Corps of Engineers, the EPA, and other data collecting agencies, as well as fieldwork investigations conducted by Raguso.
