Dr. MAC

Behavioral & Cultural Interpreter

Specialties: Researcher | Writer | Consultant | Explorer

Dr. MarieAnn C. Raguso, aka Dr. MAC is a researcher, writer, and consultant specializing in human behavior, cultural systems, and organizational development. As the founder of Analyze This, she partners with businesses, nonprofits, and institutions to deliver culturally attuned, data-driven insights. Her work focuses on bridging analytical rigor with human understanding, empowering clients to navigate complexity through tailored research, strategic writing, and cultural interpretation.

Her research spans topics from transitional identity to behavioral deviance, including her dissertation, Understanding the Transitional Needs of Servicemembers to Veterans (2024), a qualitative study employing Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). She has also published critical work like In a Nutshell, There’s Fresh Water in Afghanistan, & Purple Heart (2023) and delivered field-based analysis in Shedding Light on the Blue-Collar Trade of Tow Truck Operators—a socio-anthropological look at first responders often overlooked in cultural data. Her sociological thesis, The Ultimo-Sopor Theory, remains a cornerstone for interpreting global death practices as a unifying human experience.

Dr. Raguso is also a sought-after speaker. Her most recent appearance, Written Expression: A Healthy Path Toward Healing (SITREP Series, June 2025), explored therapeutic literacy and behavioral recovery. Her interdisciplinary voice is evident across past engagements, including her memoir reading at the MVILLE MFA Mixer and her role as co-director and writer of the indie horror film Revival of Darkness.

Whether conducting fieldwork or developing policy-usable insights, Dr. Raguso brings a rare mix of academic depth, narrative precision, and strategic clarity. If your organization needs cultural fluency, social research, or insight that actually works—she’s the one to call.
